Cold Frame 蓋起來了

I bought this cold frame 2 years ago but never used it until now.
I suppose it gives me peace of mind
while I am not home to care for the young seedlings.

This cold frame can cover up to 6 Earthboxes plus some
smaller pots. It's enough for a small family's Winter harvest.

Transplanted bai cai #5 seedlings
I transplant these babies today despite it's cold
and windy---snow is forecasted for this evening.

These babies have endured ravages of snow, hail storm, rain
and high winds, you can see the damaged leaves. I don't have
the heart to see them fighting 50 mph wind and snow again.
They will be very happy to have the protection of a cold frame.

There are more seedlings waiting to be transplated:
Chinese kale, cabbage, chrysanthemum, etc.
I don't know I can get to all of them this week,
they are getting too big for the seedling plugs.

Abondigas Soup 墨西哥肉丸湯

This soup is served with tortilla or rice, it's a meal in itself.
A squeeze of lime juice will enhance the flavor of the soup.

Ingredients
Homemade beef or chicken stock
Seasoned ground buffalo with rice meat balls
Potatoes, tomatoes, onions, carrots, squashes
1 cup roasted chili, and 1 bunch cilantro
Salt and pepper to taste

Notes
1. I use ground buffalo instead of beef, alternately you can
use any kind of ground meat, or a combination of two meats.

2. The meat ball is made with cooked rice instead of bread crumbs.

3. You can use any kind of vegetables, I use what I have on hand.

4. MUST HAVES for the soup to taste authentic ---
onion, tomato, roasted chili, and cilantro.
